Sunrise Montessori School

Toddler Program

Sunrise Montessori Toddler Program provides the sense of security, nurturance and loving care that toddlers need to thrive during this stage of intense learning. Since toddlers are committed to achieving independence, the Directress provides responsive individual attention as your child deals with positive experiences as well as frustrations. The program takes advantage of the rapid growth of fine and gross motor skills at this stage of development.

The Toddler Programs focus on key developmental areas namely: sensory and perpetual development, self-help skills, physical and motor skills, and social and emotional growth.

The classroom has been carefully designed and equipped with furnishings and creative playthings to handle the particular needs of the toddlers. Each day provides a balance of quiet and active growth oriented activities, as well as time for eating, snacking, napping and outdoor play. Some activities take place in groups, while others are individual.

Toilet training is a very important but essential part of the child’s physical and psychological well-being. During the initial stages of toilet training, the child will wear diapers or pull-ups during their nap time. Parents have to remember to be patient and provide positive reinforcement. Together, we need to keep in mind that every child is unique; some may take longer than others to get trained.

We know your child will have a positive experience at Sunrise Montessori, because we will be working very hard to make sure it is.
